Investing in yourself by Charline Miles
This month I have been reflecting on the number of people that would like to be independent directors or non-executive directors, particularly people looking for their first role. There is no shortage of people who are keen to be appointed and have a positive impact on companies in our economy. An impact our country cannot afford to miss out on.
Given our client base extends from small businesses to large multi-billion rand private companies and family businesses we see the desire for directors with a range of experiences. From those looking for their first appointment to individuals with vast experience and directorship skills. However every director requires a base of understanding to be successful.
The question this raises is what are you doing to invest in your own development as a director? What are you doing to prepare yourself to be an outstanding director adding real value to the companies on which you serve?
If this is a question you are looking to answer, give me a call.
Yours in directorship success,
