The non-executive directors of KCC are responsible for approving the strategy and for providing appropriate oversight, governance and leadership to KCC in the pursuit of its strategies in order to provide children care and community services. Non executive directors should monitor the performance of management in terms of agreed goals and objectives. They should ensure that management provides comprehensive information to the Board and ensure that financial and operational controls are in place to mitigate risks faced by the Community Centre.

The successful candidate will have strong board experience . With a finance background and strong financial acumen, she will chair the Audit and Risk Committee. While a Chartered Accounting qualification is not a prerequisite, experience in chairing such a committee will be beneficial. Having a strong business and institutional network would be advantageous.
