Farah Esmail has over fifteen years of experience in senior management roles in North America and Africa. Farah has acted as a business partner to start-ups, family run businesses and multinationals in various industries implementing best practice legal, HR, compliance, risk management, strategy, organizational change and corporate governance processes. She established and managed the Legal and Board Relations Department for a technology start-up in the United States for seven years to its exit, and the Board Relations Department for the Toronto District School Board in Canada. Farah returned to Kenya as the VP and Senior Legal Counsel with Bridge International Academies, a social enterprise. More recently, Farah was Regional HR and Legal for KK Security, a Company of Gardaworld employing 25,000 employees across 9 countries in Africa. Farah has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto (Canada), a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School (Canada), an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University (Canada). Farah is a sponsored international competitive fitness athlete, has completed a number of marathons and has successfully climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya.
