We have found the process that the Sirdar Group uses to be thorough and comprehensive and an effective board evaluation approach. The report highlighted areas of our strengths well as those requiring attention, but most importantly, included recommendations and suggested action and execution plans. These plans were based on best practice from Sirdar’s broad Africa and global experience and were practical and feasible in the context of our business. The board is now agreeing the action steps it will take to implement the learnings from this board evaluation process.

We found that the Sirdar methodology provided us with a framework for reflecting on all aspects of our board’s responsibilities and we found the process to be effective. The Board discussed the recommendations made … and also agreed which recommendations it would make and developed an implementation timetable for those recommendations. We subsequently engaged Sirdar to help us in reviewing our board charter as a result of one of the board evaluation outcomes.
